Are you just another lawyer? The adversary system is competitive. It isn’t easy to be a vigorous advocate while at the same time consistently maintaining fairness to the opposing party and counsel as well as candor toward the court. Staying within the foul lines can be a tall order.

This new program will deal with the competitive and ethical problems faced by trial attorneys. Great trial lawyers in history who have run afoul of ethical responsibilities will be discussed.

Superior Court Judge Lisa Chrystal, who has heard hundreds of motions and trials in both the Civil and Family Courts, will provide her insights into ethical practices. Certified Civil Trial Attorney Jon M. Bramnick, Esq. will discuss the ethics of accepting a case and pursuing it through investigation, discovery and trial. Deputy Attorney General Jaime E. Stofa, Esq. will describe the ethical considerations particular to the Family Division and Children in Court. Superior Court Judge James Hely will moderate and speak about the historical evolution of ethics for trial attorneys, including discussions of Abraham Lincoln, Clarence Darrow, and many trial attorneys up to the present time.

Prepare for the ethical issues you’re likely to face as a trial attorney, including...
• Insights into ethical practice
• Taking a case & handling it through investigation, discovery & trial
• Considerations when dealing with the Family Division & children in court
          ... and more!
