Pursuant to Rule 1:42, new lawyers during their first compliance cycle after admission to the New Jersey Bar must take 15 of their required 24 MCLE credits in any 5 of the following 9 subject areas: (Up to 12 credits can be earned via Audio CDs, Webinars & MP3s.) New Jersey New Attorney requirements can only be fulfilled by New Jersey specific CLE courses in the preselected subject areas above. Note: After completing your New Attorney requirements, you will still need to earn 9 more credit hours (4 of which must be in ethics and/or professionalism) in your first compliance cycle. Exclusions: Lawyers who have satisfactorily completed at least the first full year’s requirements of the Skills and Methods Course previously mandated by former court rule N.J.Ct.R. 1:26 will be considered to have met the Bridge the Gap requirements for newly admitted lawyers.
